Spring Break is over! Here’s how to make the most of the last two months of school!
I clearly remember being a kid and feeling antsy through those last two months of school before Summer Break. Now that Spring Break is over, you can probably relate. The sun's out and all the kids want is to be outside having fun. As the school year wraps up, here are some fun ways to keep the learning flowing even when young minds are wanting to hop away from the desk and burst out of the halls.
1. Phonics in the Yard
Keep the reading skills growing by taking the phonics learning outside! Pack some snacks, head to the yard or park, and turn phonics into a game. Hunt for objects that start with different sounds, or make up stories where each person adds a word beginning with a specific letter.
2. Show The Teachers Some Love
For my families in private or public schools, make sure to give a big shout-out to our awesome teachers! Make this a learning moment by asking your kids to make thank-you cards. Go a step further, and have your child show off their cool learning skills in that card by spelling advanced words and sharing a message from the heart. Writing for fun will be a great way keep the skills going as we head into the summer!
3. Nature Classroom
For homeschoolers, it's definitely time to move the classroom outdoors. Set up a comfy spot in the yard and take the lessons outside. Whether it's reading under a tree, doing science experiments in the sun, or practicing math with chalk, learning in nature keeps the children happy and free and creates unforgettable memories.
